m a k e s m e s m i l e - old music

Lately I've been on an old music kick, so my ipod's new playlist is nothing but Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Lena Horne, Jane Russell, Shirley Bassey, Billie Holiday and more. Plus I've been catching some great old musicals on TV…usually passing these old black & whites while flipping, now I've actually been seeking them out. Last night I caught The Frank Sinatra Show and decided this would feed my new addiction for a little bit. Lena Horne was on the show as well and the music… just hit the spot. With the weather finally warming up, I decided to sit out on our patio instead of the couch and enjoy the night. I trashed picked this old almost broken rocking chair last summer and I've been slowly fixing it up so it will look brand new when it's all done. A couple joints had to be reinforced and re-glued, but after all that, it's a nice stable rocking chair. All I have left to do is finish sanding off the rest of the green paint, and then staining it a nice dark shade. So back to the music, out on the patio, rocking to the music, the dog in my lap and pretty much just enjoying life. I started the morning out in that rocking chair, taking a break from cleaning, drinking espresso and the music of choice was Barry Manilow, and now here I was finishing out the night in the rocking chair, listening to Lena Horne sing her heart out on stage. So all in all…..

Yesterday was a good day
