The past weekend before death came knocking on my door (I've been incredibly sick since Saturday, today is the first day I feel somewhat better) I went trolling to the various thrift stores I always go to looking for some hidden treasures. The first one I went to was down by my parents house, they had some good stuff but its priced so high now, I remember going there when i still lived at home and you could find some awesome shit for cheap. So I found the clock in the photos below, it was $20 as is but I couldn't pass it up, it was quirky and odd so I just had to have it. The two men on the top saw back and forth and everything is hand carved. I just need to buy a new motor for it and the one pin holding the seconds regulator is bent so after I straighten that all out it will be a working clock again. I looked online to see if I could find any info on it and I found a website that sells the woodworking plans to make it and the site also sells replacement motors so fixing it will be no problem.
Moving on to the next thrift store I came across these wood, plaster and real fur animal figurines. I spotted the mom and baby Cuvier's Gazelle first sitting on top of a display cabinet and picked them up, they were only $10 each so I figured why not. While waiting in line I was looking inside the cabinet and saw the bear figure and as well, I reminded me a lot of Winston's fur (my dog) so I snatched that one up too.. In the checkout the woman told me they were all half off so they were all just $5 each so I decided to buy the giraffe figure too since everything was so cheap. I ended up with 4 awesome figurines and I found this roll of really super vintage wallpaper, I'll have to cut out a section and scan it, it really is wild! So it ended up being a good day, now I gotta find room for all of it.. LOL
