so here are the results of a few hours of work over the weekend. Friday night I completed the ratlines on the entire boat and did some touch up painting of different areas. I really didn't want to put the sails on cause I thought it would take away from all the detail work I did, so I was just going to rig it and call it done, but unfortunately you don't have the option with this model to rig it without the sails. So Sunday I added the sails and after they were all on, I really liked the way it looked. All that’s left to do is rig it and after looking though the instructions last night I'm feeling a little uneasy about it. The areas are so small to work in and the directions aren't to clear. So I'm giving myself a week to get this thing rigged before the next ship I ordered to come in. I'm a little annoyed because after all the sails were installed I went over the whole thing with a top coat to protect the paint and since I didn't wait to get just a regular clear coat, I used a matte finish spray so now the shininess of the gold gild is gone. I don't know if I should go over it again a bit just to touch it up or leave it be, my argument can be it's been at sea and it's weathered… lol
