wow.... a post

I know I keep making promises to post some new pictures and believe me I have a TON, I've got the Longwood Gardens photos, Philadelphia's Phasion Phest that I had the privilege of shooting, and this past weekend I took a trip up to Ricketts Glen for a hike and to get some awesome shots of the waterfalls. So when I find time there's going to be a ton of posts. I blame World of Warcraft for my absence. 2 months to be exact.. that game sucks you in.. but I've taken up a new hobby so Warcraft is on a back burner for now. What's my new obsession you ask? Model figure painting. Sounds dorky and it is but oddly relaxing to me and seeing the figures go from just a piece of plastic to something realistic looking is amazing. I've always wanted to but never got around to it until I saw "Night at the Museum" and they had some great dioramas depicting Romans, Cowboys and Incans. So I went online and discovered that the kits weren't expensive at all so I ordered the Eastern Friendly Indians kit so the past 2 nights I've been trying and learning how to paint these tiny figures. I always have this problem of reading how big something is online and when it comes in I'm blown away of how off my idea was (for some reason I thought a 40x40 light tent would be slightly bigger than the 20x20 one and boy was I wrong) so when I read that the figures were 1:72 scale or 20mm I was thinking they were going to be the size of those green plastic soldiers I played with when I was little. Again I was wrong.. these things are TINY. I took one look and said there's no way I can paint these things, but it's not as bad as I thought and when I get something to magnify my work area it will be a lot easier. So the first night I painted 4 medicine men I guess you can call them and one female holding a basket and last night I painted 3 hunters all wearing the deer hide over their heads for disguise. I'll take some photos tonight and post them tomorrow so you can see my progress. So if I stop posting photos you can always look forward to model figure updates!
