So the shoot went well. We did 3 different makeup looks for each girl, so 6 total shots. We ripped out magazine ads and tried to copy them as close to the original as possible, the idea was I was going to scan in the original, then have my version next to it for side by side comparison, but since we couldn't get the makeup just right we scraped that idea and decided to just do whatever we wanted. I'm still working on a few of the shots so here are a couple of them that I actually had time to work on this weekend. I'm really happy on how the de-saturated ones turned out, I'm still not used to shooting portraits in color, all the past shots I've done of people are usually duotone or sepia(dark and moody is kinda my portrait style, it's just what i do well) but I want to try to do colors even though I'm still learning. And damn do I need a diffuser OR a better flash, so many shots are blown out or the shimmer from the eye shadow is bouncing back so much light.. but all in all it was a good night, we decided that the next shoot is gonna be 50's pin-up girls, so that should be really really fun.
